When the Premier came to Ottawa two years ago, he made a clear promise to the residents of Orléans: the province would upload Highway 174. People believed him, including the Mayor and Councillors. Two years later, nothing has happened.

Last week, MPP Blais held a virtual town hall with high school students across Orléans on the Ford government’s decision to drastically reduce OSAP supports, pushing more and more students into a greater debt burden. We are calling on the government to fix OSAP ASAP and ensure that students across the province can study and start their lives without a mountain of debt.

The Legislature is finally back in session after the Ford government decided to give themselves a 102 day break from all real accountability. MPP Blais used the Leader’s leadoff questions to raise a concern that he’s been talking about a lot lately: the crises facing boys and young men.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: we need to have tougher penalties for people who drink and get behind the wheel. Full stop.

MPP Blais provided notice of dissatisfaction to his question about Special Education funding in December and had the opportunity to debate it now that the Legislature has finally resumed after a prolonged winter break because families across Ontario still aren’t getting the support they need. If the system only works when a story goes viral, then the system is not working.
