Legislature Prorogued

  • Legislative Review

The Legislative Assembly of Ontario was set to return on September 13th, however, the Ontario government has prorogued the legislature until October 4th.

By proroguing the legislature, the Ontario government has hit the reset button.

Prorogation:

  • Ends the current legislative session
  • Members of the Legislative Assembly are released from their parliamentary duties
  • All unfinished business is terminated.

This means that my Private Members Bills, Stopping Harassment and Abuse by Local Leaders Act and Haitian Flag Day Act will have to be fully re-introduced in the legislature.

You can find more information on what it means to prorogue the legislature here

Rest assured I will reintroduce this important legislation to stop local leaders from sexually or emotionally harassing their staff.
