— Bill 10, Stopping Harassment and Abuse by Local Leaders Act, moves one step closer towards becoming law —

Stephen Blais, MPP for Orléans, was glad to see Bill 10, Stopping Harassment and Abuse by Local Leaders Act, 2021 successfully pass Second Reading Wednesday evening.

“Bill 10 is an important step to bringing more accountability to municipal leaders,” says Blais. “While I am glad to see it pass second reading, the work does not stop here.”

Blais has asked that Bill 10 be sent to the Standing Committee on Social Policy for hearings and quick adoption.

“I am calling on the Ford Government to begin the committee process immediately, so that the Bill can be studied quickly, residents and victims can testify to the importance of holding leaders accountable, and we can send Bill 10 back to the Legislature for a final vote.”
