Back to work

Dear friend:

As you may be aware, I suffered a major heart attack this past January 7th, followed by a severe bout of pneumonia, a tracheotomy and nerve damage in my leg. This was a turbulent and difficult time for both my family and I and unfortunately one that can only be chalked up to bad family genes.

After a lengthy road to recovery, I have been permanently released from the hospital. Although I am still rehabbing the nerve damage in my leg, I am glad to be back working for you and your family at City Hall.

We’ve made great progress these past two years on ensuring Orléans and Cumberland receives its fair share of investments. Roads are being widened and repaved, new parks are opening and we can celebrate the first new pool constructed since amalgamation right here in our community.

While we’ve achieved much together, there is still more to do. I’ll continue to fight for our fair share of investments while delivering tax rates and OC Transpo fares that are reasonable.

I’m looking forward to catching-up with you at the various events in our community over the spring/summer months.

As always, if I, or my office, can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected] or give us a call at 613-580-2489.

Please accept my profound and sincere gratitude for your kind words, support and understanding these past few months.

Sincerely,

Stephen Blais
