Welcome to the Ottawa Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic

In Ontario, Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinics (NPLCs) are changing the way people access primary care. At these clinics, Nurse Practitioners serve as the main point of care, supported by a team of health professionals who work together to meet the needs of patients and their families.

This team-based model puts the focus on health promotion, disease prevention and overall wellness, while ensuring care is accessible, coordinated and grounded in the latest evidence.

Ontario was the first province in Canada to launch Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinics, beginning in 2006 under the McGuinty government. Today, there are 27 NPLCs across the province, helping more Ontarians get the care they need closer to home.

The Ottawa Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic (Ottawa NPLC) is a new, not-for-profit health care centre funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health. Officially incorporated in April 2024, the clinic is now under construction and set to open its doors in late Summer 2025.

There are no fees for the services provided. The clinic will operate with a team-based approach, addressing not just physical health, but also the emotional, mental and social needs of patients. Nurse Practitioners will be able to connect patients directly with specialists and other health professionals, including those working right inside the clinic.
