Decades of Community Service ⛸️🏒

Some people make a community stronger simply by showing up year after year, and doing the work that brings people together.

Dave Redmond is one of those people.

For decades, Dave has been building outdoor rinks in Chatelaine Village, creating a place where kids can learn to skate, play hockey and make memories that last a lifetime. It’s volunteer work that requires early mornings, cold nights and a genuine love for community.

Thanks to Dave’s dedication, countless children in Orléans have laced up their skates for the first time, learned to glide across the ice and discovered the joy of outdoor winter fun. He’s given families a gathering place and kids a space to be active, to play and to grow.

Community builders, like Dave, remind us what makes Orléans so special. It’s not just the programs or the infrastructure, it’s the people who care enough to give their time and energy to make life better for their neighbours.

Thank you, Dave, for everything that you’ve done for Chatelaine Village and for Orléans. Your legacy is written in every child who learned to skate on the ice you built.
