Ontario should be leading this country in innovation, talent, and opportunity

(Video in English)

But under this Premier, we’ve fallen embarrassingly behind.

We’re dead last in Canada for per-student university funding. And while places like Quebec, California, and Massachusetts are powering ahead investing 3%, 4%, even 6% of their GDP into research and development.

Ontario can’t even crack 2%.

We’re getting lapped by global innovation leaders and instead of investing in brainpower, the Premier’s stuck in traffic with yesterday’s priorities.

Premier, why is your government steering Ontario into a slow lane when we should be in a full-speed race toward a smarter, stronger future?

Supplementary: The Premier, talks a big game about jobs and growth but the truth is, you can’t build a strong economy if you’re cutting off its brainpower at the source.

Colleges and universities aren’t asking for extravagance. They’re asking for oxygen. And instead, they’re being told to do more with less while our competitors invest more and more.

We’re now seeing the cost of this neglect: fewer seats, fewer programs, and fewer reasons for top talent to stay in Ontario.

Premier, how can we expect to lead in innovation when your government treats education like a line item instead of a launch pad?
