As part of Budget 2014, the François Dupuis Recreation Centre is set to see an expansion with the construction of a community centre.
“François Dupuis is already the envy of every other community in Ottawa,” says Councillor Blais. “With the addition of a community centre, it will be the best recreational & community centre in the entire city.”
Budget 2014 allocates $798,000 in 2014 and estimates $877,000 in 2015 to plan and build a full-service community centre to complement the existing aquatic and fitness centres at François Dupuis
“There is a need for community space in Orléans,” adds Blais. “Local groups are always looking for space and often finding it hard to find what they need, this community centre will help fill that critical void in our community life.”
Public consultations will take place in 2014 on exactly what kind of space the community is looking for.
“I encourage everyone to stay apprised of the plans and please let me know what kind of community space you are hoping for,” adds Blais.
