WHEREAS impaired driving continues to take lives and cause devastating injuries on Ontario roads;

WHEREAS police services and safety organizations across the province have reported a troubling rise in impaired driving charges in recent years;

WHEREAS far too many families in Ontario have experienced the heartbreak of losing a loved one in a preventable crash caused by impaired driving;

WHEREAS survivors of impaired driving collisions often face lifelong injuries, trauma and hardship, while the people responsible may avoid meaningful consequences;

WHEREAS communities expect stronger deterrents, clearer accountability and action that prioritizes the safety of every road user;

WE THE UNDERSIGNED petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario to take immediate steps to strengthen impaired driving laws and introduce tougher penalties for impaired driving to save lives, prevent repeat offences and protect the public.
