Cumberland City Councillor Stephen Blais visited Maple Ridge Elementary School to speak to students in grades 4-8 about the importance of municipal government.
“It’s always great when I get to interact with students,” says Blais. “Their optimism and passion is really infectious.”
The We Movement is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting local and global action in Canada, the United States, and the UK.
“The kids here are really excited about the prospect of doing good in their community,” adds Blais. “We are always looking for talented people to work in municipal government, hopefully I’ve inspired a few to take on the challenge.”
Other guests included speakers from RBC, Hot 89.9, local MP Andrew Leslie among others.
