Cumberland Councillor Stephen Blais announces the addition of new trips and articulated buses for the hugely popular new route 30.
“The Route 30 is one of the success stories of the recent route optimization,” says Blais. “The new 30 express route saves riders more than 90 minutes every week – time we can spend with our families and participating in extracurricular activities.”
Beginning last week, a new trip began operation, departing from Millennium Station at 7:37 am. This additional trip will redistribute the busy loads that are on the trips departing at 7:31 am and 7:43 am. In addition, two larger articulated buses will be assigned to the trips departing at 5:53 am and 6:51 am.
Further adjustments to Route 30 will take place in January 2012, including the addition of a trip departing at 7:06 am for a total of 15 trips during the morning peak period.
“These changes were implemented in response to the immense popularity of the route 30,” adds Blais. “Increasing frequency will provide a more comfortable ride and when coupled with a faster commute lead to a better overall experience for transit users.”
OC Transpo is continuing to monitor local routes, including the Route 30 evening peak hour service, with further adjustments to be made to continue to provide effective and reliable service.
